Zachary joined Ferguson Deacon Taws LLP as an associate in June 2021, where his practice consists of civil litigation and estate planning. He was called to the Bar in June 2021 after graduating from the University of Ottawa (J.D., 2020) (B.Soc.Sc, Magna Cum Laude, 2017). During law school, Zachary completed two internships with Ferguson Deacon Taws LLP, one with the Specific Claims Tribunal Canada, and co-authored a report for the Congress of Aboriginal Peoples.
Zachary is a member of the Indigenous Bar Association and the Advocates Society. Zachary sits on the Young Advocates Standing Committee (YASC), and is the current co-chair of the Mental Health and Wellness Working Group. Zachary also works with the Assembly of Seven Generations (A7G), Ottawa based organization focused on cultural support and empowerment for Indigenous youth, as an Indigenous Youth Evaluator.
A Citizen of the Metis Nation of Ontario, with roots in Ontario and Manitoba, Zachary remains engaged and active within his community and is an advocate for the inherent rights and governing structures of all Indigenous peoples in Canada. An active paddler and camper, Zachary can often be found paddling along the shores and beaches of Georgian Bay.
